About the Playwright: David Auburn
David Auburn is an American playwright who had a meteoric rise in the theatre world. After spending two years in Juilliard School’s playwriting program his first play, Skyscraper, ran Off Broadway in 1997. Proof won the Pulitzer when he was only 32 years old. He adapted it into a film, which was released in 2005 starring Gwyneth Paltrow and Anthony Hopkins. He has also been awarded the Helen Merrill Playwriting Award and a Guggenheim Fellowship.
