The rock musical adaptation of the banned play by Frank Wedekind! Spring Awakening is set in Germany 1891, a place where the surface of life does not reflect what lies underneath. Then one night, in the middle of the woods, two teenagers meet and their lives are changed forever. This musical is an active rebellion against the world’s expectations.

Duncan Scott Sheik is an American composer and singer-songwriter. He was born on November 18, 1969, in Montclair, New Jersey. He then moved to Hilton Head, South Carolina, where he was raised by his single mother and his grandparents. Sheik’s grandmother was a Juilliard-trained pianist, so she taught him how to play at age five, and he soon started picking up the guitar. Throughout his adolescence, Sheik played in bands and kept up his love of music. Not wanting a musical education to influence his style, Sheik attended Brown University and graduated with a degree in semiotics in 1992. A few years later, Sheik met poet and playwright Steven Sater through the Soka Gakkai International, a Nichiren Buddhist group he joined after converting from Catholicism.
Steven Sater is an American lyricist and playwright. He was born in Evansville, Indiana, and began his college career at Washington University in St. Louis. However, an apartment fire caused Sater to have to jump from his balcony, and he spent months recovering from the injuries and seriously decided to pursue a career in the arts. After his undergraduate education, Sater went on to attend Princeton University, where he earned his masters degree in English literature.
