Harvey is the story of a perfectly kind gentleman by the name of Elwood P. Dowd and his best friend Harvey…..a giant invisible rabbit.  All’s well until Elwood starts introducing Harvey to everyone around town, which rankles his sister Veta Louise and her daughter Myrtle Mae.  Myrtle Mae is trying to find a suitor and it won’t do to have a crazy uncle with six-foot invisible rabbit walking around town.  Veta decides that Elwood must be taken to the sanitarium for his own sake.  Well, one thing leads to another and Veta ends up locked up in the sanitarium instead.  After a frantic search for Elwood, he turns up at the sanitarium for his treatment when Veta realizes that maybe it’s not so bad to have an invisible friend after all.

Harvey was written by Mary Chase and won the Pulitzer Prize Award for Drama.  It was also famously adapted for film starring Jimmy Stewart.

*Harvey is presented by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service, Inc., New York.
