The action starts when Mortimer Brewster, a newspaper drama critic, introduces his fiance to his aunts only to find out that the sweet, little old ladies have been murdering the old bachelors in the neighborhood as an act of charity. Add a brother that thinks he’s Teddy Roosevelt and an estranged and dangerous serial killer second brother and you can see how things will go awry.
