Coming soon!!!

Hey there theatre fans and friends.  Josh Beadle, your Three Brothers Executive Director and founder here, and I’m going to wax poetic about theatre, 3B, and much much more!  Our ’23-’24 season started one month ago with the opening of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow and our 10 Year Anniversary Celebration.  We’re thrilled to be back for another season to delight, entertain, and laugh together.

I know we’ve already started this season, but I’d really love to share with you all what we have in store for the rest of the season because it’s really exciting.  Like, really really really exciting!!!  This season may be our largest season yet as in the shows that we are producing this year are EPIC.  If you don’t know the remaining four productions in our season allow me to share some more information:

Karaoke Christmas – a brand new show conceived and written by Caroline Costa Beadle, Michael May, and Lindsay Sliwa.  This show will have you rolling in the airplane aisles, friends.  One Christmas evening night, several passengers have been snowed in at the Sioux City airport.  What will they do for the evening if they can’t make it in time for the holidays?  KARAOKE, of course.  The night descends into manic music chaos full of stories of family drama (and comedy).

With the new year, we’ll be featuring a very production of The Play that Goes Wrong.  If you know, then you know that this show is going to be HYSTERICAL.  You will not believe all of the gag, bits, and hijinx that will happen during each performance.  Think of this show like as Noises Off on comedy steroids.   I mean pieces of this set are going to fall down…on purpose   The plot of the show revolves around a fictional theatre troupe trying to put on a show.  If you’ve ever been in a play, you might find it even funnier!  Get ready for all the British accents you can stand.  This show is the DO NOT MISS show.  I mean, they’re all do not miss shows, but this one is MUST SEE.

How do you follow up a show that has been that popular over the last five years?  You follow it up with a show that has been massively popular for even longer.  This year, we’ll be producing the musical Nunsense.  Nunsense premiered in 1985 and continues to be performed across the country and for very good reason.  It follows five nuns as they try to raise the funds to bury their fellow sisters who have recently died from botulism after eating a dish prepared by Sister Julia Child of God. You’ll be laughing for days after seeing this show.  All the gags you can fit in one musical!

Finally, we close out the show with The 39 Steps!   This is a show meant for Three Brothers Theatre.  With a cast of four, we have most of our cast playing a dozen or so characters throughout the performance.  It’s an adaptation of Hitchcock’s The 39 Steps so you know you’re going to get a lot of different locations and situations.  Half the time we’re just trying to keep up where we are in the show.  It’s going to be a great piece to end the season with.  And, it'll be featuring two of our co-founders!

All of our shows are so fun, which seems like such a light and silly word to describe an entire season but it really is true.  This season will be fun to experience.  It will be a joy to see these shows and I hope that you’ll walk out each night your in one of our perforrmances with a smile on your face.  Of course, we’ve only talked about what will be happening at Three Brothers Theatre, we haven’t talked about what will be happening at our original location (now dubbed The Laboratory).  But that will have to wait for another time.
